Bogota, July 26 (QNA) – An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale struck southeastern Colombia on Sunday.
According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake’s epicenter was located 18 kilometers southeast of the city of Monterrey at a depth of 12 kilometers.
So far, Colombian authorities have not yet reported any casualties or material damage.
In 1999, Colombia was hit by a 6.1-magnitude earthquake that killed 1,185 people, left 700 others missing, injured at least 4,750 people, and displaced about 250,000 people. The city of Armenia was the most affected by the earthquake. (QNA)
