Amman, Aug. 24 (Petra) — Temperatures will remain slightly above
seasonal averages through Thursday, keeping much of the country under
relatively hot conditions while more intense heat persists in the
Badia and low-lying regions, according to the Jordan Meteorological
Department.

Relatively hot weather is forecast across most regions on Monday,
with very hot conditions expected in the Badia, the Jordan Valley,
the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Moderate northwesterly winds will become
active at times, particularly in desert areas.

The weather pattern is expected to remain largely unchanged over the
coming days, with relatively hot conditions continuing across most
parts of the country through Thursday. Very hot weather will persist
in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, accompanied
by moderate northwesterly winds.

Monday’s temperatures are forecast to reach 35 degrees Celsius in
East Amman and 33 C in West Amman, while highs of 31 C are expected
in the northern highlands, 30 C in the Sharah highlands and 35 C
across the plains.

Higher readings are forecast in the desert and low-lying areas, with
temperatures reaching 40 C in the Badia, 41 C in the northern Jordan
Valley and at the Dead Sea, and 42 C in both the southern Jordan
Valley and Aqaba.

Overnight temperatures are expected to fall to 23 C in East Amman and
21 C in West Amman, with lows of 19 C in the northern highlands and
18 C in the Sharah highlands. Minimum temperatures are forecast at 25
C in the Badia, 27 C in the northern Jordan Valley, 31 C in the
southern Jordan Valley, 30 C at the Dead Sea and 29 C in Aqaba.
