Amman, Aug. 4 (Petra) – The value of exports covered by certificates
of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) increased by
18.6% during the first seven months of the year compared with the
same period in 2025.

Statistical data obtained by the Jordan News Agency (Petra) showed
that the value of exports covered by certificates of origin issued by
the Chamber reached JD904 million during the January–July period, up
from JD762 million in the corresponding period last year.

The Chamber issued 25,626 certificates of origin during the first
seven months of the year, compared with 22,660 certificates in the
same period of 2025, representing an increase of 13.1%.

By export value, Iraq was the leading destination at JD365 million
under 1,658 certificates. It was followed by Switzerland with JD92
million under 24 certificates, the United Arab Emirates with nearly
JD65 million under 5,570 certificates, Saudi Arabia with nearly JD62
million under 4,573 certificates, and Egypt with JD49 million under
601 certificates.

The exports covered by certificates of origin included foreign-origin
goods valued at JD419 million, agricultural products worth JD131
million, industrial products valued at nearly JD115 million, and
Arab-origin goods worth approximately JD109 million, in addition to
other categories.

A certificate of origin is a document used in international trade to
certify that goods in a shipment have been produced, manufactured, or
processed in a specific country. Customs authorities use the document
to determine the applicable tariff treatment and verify the country
of origin of the goods.

The Amman Chamber of Commerce issues certificates of origin for
Jordanian agricultural products, livestock products, raw natural
resources, foreign goods re-exported from Jordan, and foreign goods
purchased from the local market under specified conditions.

It also issues certificates of origin for Jordanian industrial
products at the request of exporters, based on an original factory
invoice certified by an industrial chamber and an authenticated
certificate confirming the goods are of Jordanian origin, in
accordance with Article 29 of the Jordanian Chambers of Commerce
Regulation No. 45 of 2009 and the 2013 Instructions for the Issuance
of Certificates of Origin.
