Kassala, Jan. 29, 2026 (SUNA) – The Acting Wali of Kassala State, Major General (Ret) Al-Sadiq Mohamed Al-Azraq, met today with a Dutch Embassy delegation. The meeting was attended by the state ministers of Social Development, Health, Education, and Guidance.Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation with the embassy, which funds several humanitarian projects in the state, and on transitioning from emergency aid to early recovery, including establishing partnerships to support future funding.The meeting also addressed the protection of children and women, highlighting the state’s initiatives to improve conditions through community organizations such as Plan International Sudan, one of the oldest international organizations in Kassala working on family and community development.Participants reviewed the integration of these efforts into the state’s strategic plans, emphasizing long-term development and shifting communities from immediate humanitarian aid to sustainable services in education, health, food security, and social development.AS/BH
