Amman, February 17 (Petra) — The final statement of the 38th African Union Summit, held in Addis Ababa, rejects the displacement of Palestinians from their land as a violation of international law.
The statement condemned Israel’s violations of international law, particularly the targeting of civilians and infrastructure. It reaffirmed that the two-state solution is the only viable path to resolving the conflict and ensuring long-term regional stability.
The summit denounced Israel’s military actions in Gaza, describing them as “barbaric aggression,” and called on African leaders to suspend any form of cooperation or normalisation with Israel until it ends its occupation of Palestinian territories and ceases its aggression against Palestine.
