Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Professor Ismat Gurashi on Friday launched the distribution of 100 agricultural tractors to farmers at Al-Rahad Agricultural Scheme. The tractors were provided by Giad Company through the Agricultural Bank of Sudan.The launch was attended by General Manager of the Agricultural Bank of Sudan Salah-Eddin Mohamed Abdel-Rahim and Executive Director of Giad Company Abdullah Abdel-Maarouf.The launch took place during the minister’s visit to Al-Rahad Agricultural Corporation, where he reviewed the progress of agricultural operations and irrigation-related challenges, particularly electricity supply, bird pests, canal clearance and the accumulation of silt, calling for urgent and sustainable solutions.The minister affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to developing Al-Rahad Agricultural Scheme and providing the machinery and equipment required to support production, noting that dredgers, loaders and tractors had been made available through the Agricultural Bank.He explained that the Ministry’s policy is based on linking agricultural financing with insurance and extension services, as well as financing value chains, with the aim of increasing productivity.Meanwhile, the minister addressed citizens at the Ahd Al-Rijal “The Men’s Pledge” Camp in Al-Fao, affirming the agricultural sector’s readiness to contribute to the reconstruction phase in Kordofan and Darfur states following the victories, and reaffirming the Ministry’s support for the Armed Forces and supporting forces in the “Battle of Dignity.” BH/BH#Nabaa_Sudan#Sudan
