Maan, Aug. 18 (Petra) — The Princess Aisha bint Al Hussein College
of Nursing and the Faculty of Information Technology at Al-Hussein
Bin Talal University (AHU) hosted the first technical forum for
digital technology projects in healthcare.

The forum forms part of the university’s ongoing strategy to promote
innovation and entrepreneurship by assisting students in converting
academic concepts into viable, applied digital solutions. The
participating students had completed training tracks offered through
the JoCodes program an initiative under the Youth, Technology, and
Jobs Project run by the Ministry of Digital Economy and
Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation and
executed by Hello World Kids.

AHU President Atef Al-Kharabsheh highlighted the growing significance
of national digital transformation initiatives, noting that the
university places strong emphasis on incorporating technology and
artificial intelligence (AI) across academic and professional
disciplines.

Princess Aisha bint Al Hussein College of Nursing Dean Doaa Dwairej
said the gathering supports the faculty’s plan to integrate digital
technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT), and information
technology into healthcare delivery methods.

Sumaya Abu Saleh, JoCodes program coordinator at the Faculty of
Information Technology, explained that the faculty integrated the
training modules directly into academic coursework, awarding 10
course marks for professional certificates earned by students. She
noted that nearly 1,000 AHU students have enrolled since the program
launched in March 2026, with approximately 800 successfully earning
certified credentials.

Mahmoud Al-Rasai, Director of the Innovation, Creativity, and
Entrepreneurship Center, outlined the center’s efforts to provide
student projects with incubation, design space, and skill development
resources, supported by public and private sector partnerships.

Mutamar Jarrar, Head of the Community Health Nursing Department,
stated that the forum serves as a milestone in recognizing student
achievements in health informatics, AI, and digital skills.

The event featured presentations of student-led technical innovations
and highlighted ongoing training, qualification, and incubation
opportunities aimed at fostering sustainable entrepreneurship.
