Khartoum, May 19, 2026 (SUNA) – The Minister of Culture, Information, Antiquities and Tourism, Khalid Al-Eisir, has denied reports circulating on social media regarding alleged remarks about journalists, describing them as unfounded. In a statement to SUNA, he said certain hostile actors are promoting misinformation aimed at sowing division and undermining national and professional cohesion against the militia’s agenda and its supporters. He stressed that Sudan’s press community is highly professional and would not be drawn into such “misleading narratives,” urging the public to verify information before sharing what he described as “poisoned reports.” “We are moving forward with steady steps, and such weak attempts do not shake us,” he added.
