BAYOUDA, (SUNA) – President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, visited the Bayouda area in Northern State, where he reviewed the overall situation and the provision of essential services to citizens. He also visited the compound of the Idrisi Sufi order, including the Masid of Sayyid Al-Kamil Al-Idrisi in Bayouda. He commended the role of Sufi orders in society, describing them as beacons of truth, guidance, national unity and popular solidarity. Al-Burhan noted that these Sufi orders embrace moderation and reject religious excess and extremism, praising their role in strengthening the foundations of national unity. The TSC President said his visit aimed to assess the challenges facing agriculture in Northern State, particularly in the three agricultural schemes of Al-Borqeq, Karma and Al-Dafoufa. He added that the state attaches the highest priority to agriculture, describing it as Sudan’s safeguard for food security. “We are working to resolve all agricultural challenges to ensure that we catch up with the winter agricultural season,” he said. Given the significant shortage of rainfall across Sudan, Al-Burhan said particular attention would be directed towards agricultural schemes in White Nile and Gezira states, as well as those in River Nile and Northern states, alongside the Sondos, Al-Sileit and Soba schemes. He stressed that these efforts were aimed at achieving food security and improving citizens’ livelihoods.BH/BH
