MADANI, June 9, 2026 (SUNA) — Al-Gezira State Security Committee announced during a press briefing held Tuesday at the state government secretariat in Madani that the video circulating on social media alleging the abduction of children from Al-Andalus neighborhood in Madani to the village of Al-Sheikh Taha in Al-Hassahessa locality is entirely baseless. The committee stated that it had visited Al-Sheikh Taha village and taken all necessary legal measures, including the opening of an official case file with the Family and Juvenile Prosecution Office. It further confirmed that medical examinations conducted on the children established that they had not been subjected to any harm or assault. The committee reassured citizens that the security situation across the state remains stable, while urging families to closely monitor and pay attention to their children. For his part, the Acting Wali of Al-Gezira State, Mortada Ismail Al-Beeli, affirmed that ensuring the safety and security of citizens remains among the top priorities of the state government, stressing that security constitutes a fundamental pillar for restoring normal public life.BH/BH
