Al-Nilein University Establishes Pioneering Deanery for Digital Transformation

Khartoum, Feb. 2, 2026 (SUNA) – Al-Nilein University has announced the establishment of a Deanery for Digital Transformation, becoming the first Sudanese university to adopt such an institutional structure. The move follows Administrative Decision No. (17) for 2026, issued by Vice-Chancellor Professor Al-Hadi Adam Mohamed Ibrahim, which upgraded the former Information and Communications Technology Center to a full deanery and appointed Dr. Mohamed Hassan Ahmed as its Dean. The decision is in line with the university’s strategic vision to build a modern, smart institution capable of keeping pace with rapid digital developments, with a view to boosting institutional efficiency and improving services for students, faculty, and staff.Professor Al-Hadi Adam said the step reflects the university’s firm commitment to its comprehensive modernization agenda. For his part, Dr. Mohamed Hassan Ahmed outlined the new deanery’s mandate, which includes leading digital transformation across academic and administrative systems, developing and maintaining technical infrastructure, strengthening information security, and supervising all digital platforms operated by the university. He noted that the initiative builds on major technical achievements realized during the recent war period, most notably the successful transition to e-learning following the suspension of in-person classes, as well as the implementation of fully electronic systems for student registration, data management, and the issuance of graduation certificates.AS/BH
