Amman, Aug. 26 (Petra) – A girl found buried in an uninhabited area in Amman has been confirmed dead by strangulation. Authorities have arrested the suspected killer following a suicide attempt, the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said.
Investigations identified the girl, and forensic reports confirmed the cause of death. Evidence quickly pointed to a suspect, who was initially at large, prompting a search operation.
Early Tuesday, the South Amman Police Directorate received a report of a man attempting suicide by jumping from the second floor of a residential building in Bayader. Authorities confirmed he was the suspect in the murder.
During interrogation after receiving medical care, he admitted to killing the girl following a dispute and burying her in the uninhabited area with the help of a relative, who was also arrested. The case will be referred to the Public Prosecutor of the Grand Criminal Court.
