Amman, October 12 (Petra) – Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh met on Sunday with the European Union Ambassador to Jordan Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas to explore avenues for enhanced cooperation and joint initiatives.
Shawarbeh called for deepening the partnership between Amman and the EU, highlighting the EU’s key role as a strategic partner in advancing sustainable development, improving public services and enhancing the quality of life in Jordan.
He urged expanding collaboration in priority areas such as transport, urban development, environmental sustainability, infrastructure and enhancing the city’s resilience and adaptability.
Chatzisavas, in turn, praised the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM’s) efforts in fostering international cooperation and partnerships and acknowledged Amman’s progress in municipal, urban and cultural development.
He expressed appreciation for the municipality’s ongoing plans and projects aimed at improving infrastructure and service delivery for the city and its people.
