Aqaba, July 17 (Petra) – The Aqaba Port Marine Services Company (APMSCO) and the Jordan Shipping Association (JSA) held discussions to enhance their cooperation, aiming to support the maritime transport sector, address ongoing challenges, and seize opportunities to facilitate smoother maritime trade.
Frederik Rutgers, General Manager of APMSCO, highlighted the company’s growth since its establishment, underscoring its commitment to excellence, safety, and collaboration with maritime partners in the Gulf of Aqaba. This approach has strengthened APMSCO’s global reputation and improved the competitiveness of Jordanian ports through professional and flexible operations that meet international standards.
Members of the Association praised APMSCO’s essential role as the backbone of port services, ensuring efficient trade operations. They commended the company’s outstanding achievements and its dedication to delivering high-quality maritime services that prioritize safety and environmental protection.
The delegation expressed optimism about APMSCO’s continuous growth and its capacity to adapt to evolving maritime activities, supported by the expertise of its skilled workforce.
They also lauded company’s efforts in training Jordanian seafarers, who have earned specialized certifications aligned with the latest international standards in maritime transport and logistics, positioning them competitively within regional and Gulf markets.
The partnership between APMSCO and JSA was described as a strategic move to enhance technical knowledge and provide practical training opportunities, contributing to the advancement of Jordan’s maritime and logistics sectors and reinforcing the country’s role as a regional hub.
Both sides emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration and regular dialogue to promote the development and competitiveness of Jordan’s maritime industry and maintain Aqaba port’s regional leadership.
