Cairo, August 03 (QNA) – The Arab League strongly condemned the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, which targeted tents sheltering displaced people and residential buildings, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries.
In a statement issued on Monday, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy said the Israeli bombardment, which coincided with a large-scale military campaign in the occupied West Bank involving demolitions and arrest raids across several cities, reflected a clear attempt by Israel to sabotage the roadmap announced two days ago as the basis for advancing to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, ending the suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, and securing an Israeli withdrawal.
The Secretary-General stressed the need to hold Israel fully accountable for its violations against the Palestinian people and its blatant attempts to derail mediation efforts. He also underscored that Israel must not be allowed to achieve its objectives of prolonging and expanding its occupation of Gaza in pursuit of what he described as clear domestic agendas pursued by the occupation leadership and its supporters.
