Amman, May 20 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Hunaiti, met on Tuesday with Germany’s Chief of Defense, General Carsten Breuer, at the German Ministry of Defense headquarters in Berlin.

An official military reception was held for Maj. Gen. Hunaiti, including an honor guard inspection.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries. The talks covered areas such as defense industries, joint training, and capacity-building, with an aim to strengthen regional security and improve collective readiness to address emerging challenges.

Hunaiti emphasized the importance of deepening the strategic partnership between the two armies and expanding cooperation across all military fields to help meet current global security challenges. He underscored the shared interest in promoting international peace and stability.

In a related meeting, Maj. Gen. Hunaiti also held talks with German Federal Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius. The meeting was attended by Jordan’s ambassador to Germany, the Jordanian defense attaché in Berlin, and senior officers from the Jordan Armed Forces.

Minister Pistorius praised the historic relationship between the two nations and reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to close military cooperation with Jordan. He commended Jordan’s pivotal role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in promoting regional security and stability.
