Army chief, US Senate delegation talk cooperation 

Amman, May 27 (Petra) – Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, met on Tuesday with a delegation from the US Senate Committee on Armed Services, headed by Senator Angus King.

In a meeting attended by US Defense Attaché and a number of senior officers from the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army, the two sides discussed a number of issues of mutual interest, as well as the key regional and international developments and efforts to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries’ armed forces.

Stressing the importance of the “strategic” bilateral partnership, Huneiti valued Washington’s continued support and its “remarkable” attention in various military and defense fields.

The delegation members, in turn, commended the Kingdom’s efforts, under His Majesty King Abdullah II’s leadership, in promoting international peace and security, stressing the importance of Jordan’s role in enhancing the region’s stability.
