Amman, June 2 (Petra) — The Southern Military Zone on Monday intercepted an attempt to smuggle narcotics using two drones along the Kingdom’s western border.
A military source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army said Border Guard forces, operating in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, successfully thwarted the operation after detecting and tracking the drones attempting to cross into Jordanian territory.
The source said that the rules of engagement were applied, resulting in both drones being brought down inside Jordan. The confiscated materials were transferred to the competent authorities for further investigation.
The source stressed that the Jordanian Armed Forces remain resolute in leveraging all available capabilities and resources to prevent the infiltration of narcotics and to safeguard national security.
