Amman, Aug. 24 (Petra) – The Jordanian Armed Forces said Sunday its Eastern Military Zone thwarted an attempt by a group of people to illegally cross the border from Syria at dawn.
Patrols were deployed and rules of engagement were applied, forcing the group to retreat back into Syrian territory, the army said in a statement.
A subsequent search of the area uncovered large quantities of narcotics, which were handed over to the competent authorities.
