Amman, Jan. 19 (Petra) — The Eastern Military Zone foiled a drug smuggling attempt at dawn on Monday within its area of responsibility, involving a a significant quantity of narcotics transported by balloons guided with advanced electronic devices.
Border Guard units detected the attempt and intercepted the balloons, bringing them down along with their cargo inside Jordanian territory, in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.
The seized materials were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures.
