Amman, Sept. 11 (Petra) — The Eastern Military Zone successfully thwarted two drug smuggling attempts early Thursday along its frontlines and within its area of responsibility. The operations involved the use of large quantities of narcotics transported via balloons guided by rudimentary devices.
Border Guard Units, in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, were able to detect and intercept the balloons, bringing them down along with their payloads inside Jordanian territory. The seized materials have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.
