Amman, Sep. 1 (Petra) — The Jordanian Armed Forces – Eastern Military Zone, early Monday, foiled two large-scale drug-smuggling attempts along the Kingdom’s eastern border in a coordinated security operation.
Military sources said Border guards units detected aerial objects using primitive navigation devices, carrying significant quantities of narcotics. Border guards acted swiftly, intercepting and downing the devices at two separate locations before securing the illicit cargo inside Jordanian territory.
The seized materials were transferred to the relevant authorities for investigation and legal procedures.
The armed forces reiterated their commitment to safeguarding Jordan’s borders, emphasizing that they will continue to enhance monitoring capabilities and rapid-response operations to combat organized smuggling networks.
