Jordan News Agency - Petra

The Jordan News Agency, symbolized in Arabic by the symbol (Petra), and in English by (Jordan News Agency) and symbolized by the symbol (Petra).

It was established by a royal decree as an independent department of the Ministry of Information on July 16, 1969.

Petra provides the following services:

Petra broadcasts its daily bulletins through direct lines of communication with the media, transmission over the Internet through e-mail and FTP, website and social networking platforms, and via urgent SMS.

The agency has a board of directors headed by the Minister of State for Information Affairs,   .

The agency’s organizational structure includes eight directorates (news, editorial, specialized news, information and electronic media, engineering, institutional development and training, financial and administrative affairs, and human resources).

Journalists who are members of the Syndicate of Journalists constitute about 52% of the total number of employees in the agency, which is about 226.

The agency has offices in all governorates of the Kingdom and correspondents in 14 Arab and international capitals.
