The Qatar News Agency was established on the 25th of May 1975 AD, by Decree No. (94), to be the second Gulf news agency and one of the achievements of the Qatari march in the media field.
Throughout its history, the agency witnessed a qualitative and quantitative development in terms of working hours and content. The agency started broadcasting for only half an hour a day, then gradually increased until the agency broadcasts 24 hours a day.
With the succession of years and the accompanying changes, a major qualitative shift was necessary for the Qatar News Agency to push it forward, and this actually happened with the issuance of Emiri Decree No. (72) on the eleventh of September 2007 organizing the Qatar News Agency.
In all the news it broadcasts, QNA is keen on honesty, objectivity and impartiality, and it follows up on all events of interest to the State of Qatar at various levels internally and externally.
