In November 1976, the United Arab Emirates was on a date with the birth of the Emirates News Agency, as a media, news, and knowledge entity that expresses the state. On June 18, 1977, “WAM” practically began its long and professional career in broadcasting news about the state and covering the full activities that express the political, economic and renaissance movement. The state throughout the Emirates, in addition to broadcasting and collecting news and activities for the state, its institutions abroad, its diplomatic and humanitarian missions, exhibitions and delegations, through a distinguished professional team that was able to present a vivid, sober, accurate and bright image of the Emirates, through one of its most important media creations “WAM”.

Through years of work and development, WAM witnessed significant achievements in its ability to simultaneously broadcast news, images and television material. Undoubtedly, the recent developments introduced by WAM in its technology of work through the use of social media constitute a qualitative leap that constituted a real addition to the system of communication, mutual influence, speed of dissemination, and access to important sectors of specialists and their audience of different categories.
