Authorities record 43,495 littering violations through July

Amman, August 16 (Petra) – To curb illegal littering and protect
public parks, forests, and tourist destinations, the Public Security
Directorate (PSD) is expanding field and automated monitoring across
the Kingdom.

Through the end of July, the PSD registered 43,495 littering
violations using electronic and automated surveillance systems.

These offenses included 28,599 cases from vehicles, 9,342 others
registered under the Waste Management Framework Law. 5,331 marine
protection offenses were recorded in the Aqaba Marine Reserve, and
223 incidents of illegal debris dumping.

The PSD confirmed heightened enforcement will continue during
weekends, holidays, and peak travel periods, with a focus on heavily
visited recreational and natural areas.

The PSD is also expanding media outreach and community programs to
foster long-term environmental management and promote cleaner public
spaces.
