Amman, Sep.16 (Petra) – The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Amman underlined the deep-rooted relations between Jordan and Azerbaijan, praising Jordan’s support for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
In a statement Tuesday marking Karabakh Martyrs’ Day, the embassy said His Majesty King Abdullah II congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the recent peace agreement signed in the United States, noting the gesture reflects the strength of ties and Jordan’s commitment to regional peace.
The embassy underscored that the establishment of the Jordanian-Azerbaijani Friendship Association constitutes a pivotal milestone in advancing cooperation, noting Azerbaijan’s comprehensive reconstruction efforts in Karabakh and eastern Zangezur, encompassing infrastructure, energy, transportation, and aviation projects, alongside the “Great Return” program designed to facilitate the repatriation of displaced persons.
It emphasized that the August 2025 peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, under US auspices, marked a historic shift toward stability and created new prospects for cooperation and development. It reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s dedication to peace, collaboration, and justice in regional and international relations.
