Amman, Aug 13 (Petra) – The Azm Party parliamentary bloc on Wednesday condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent statements on the so-called “Greater Israel,” which encompasses lands from Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt, calling them a blatant act of aggression and a challenge to international conventions.
In a press statement, the bloc said, “These toxic words reveal the enemy’s madness and arrogance and convey false assumptions about the ability to redraw the region’s maps. Netanyahu should know that Jordan is not a playground for his ambitions, and its soil is a red line.”
The bloc added that Jordan, under the Hashemite leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, remains steadfast in its position that there can be no security, stability, or peace in the region without a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. It said Israel’s racist policies will only bring more bloodshed and destruction.
It affirmed that, together with all Jordanians, it rejects Netanyahu’s statements as null and void, stressing that Jordan will remain a stronghold against any aggression and a supporter of Arab causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, until justice is achieved and rights restored.
