Amman, Sept. 23 (Petra) – Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said peace cannot be achieved in the face of impunity, stressing that nothing justifies the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
In his address to the United Nations General Assembly, Lula warned that the authority of the UN itself is at stake and the values on which it was founded are under unprecedented threat, noting that unilateral interventions have become the dominant feature of international politics.
He said tens of thousands of children and women have been buried in Gaza, along with international law, and stressed that the Palestinian people face the risk of extinction and can only survive within an independent state.
