Khartoum, Jan. 31, 2026 (SUNA) – Minister of Cabinet Affairs Dr. Limya Abdel-Ghaffar announced significant breakthroughs achieved by the Government of Hope in the field of international cooperation.Speaking at a press conference in Khartoum on Saturday, attended by six ministers, she cited the Prime Minister’s participation and address at a United Nations conference, as well as his briefing to the UN Security Council, during which he presented the government’s peace initiative for Sudan.Cabinet Minister said the initiative—welcomed at the international, regional, and local levels—derives its strength from being a purely Sudanese proposal. It includes a ceasefire, the encampment of militia fighters, addressing the situation of displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees, the delivery of humanitarian assistance, and the disarmament of militias. She added that Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris has begun establishing domestic implementation mechanisms by presenting the initiative to political forces, native administrations, civil society organizations, universities, and the private sector, paving the way for an inclusive intra-Sudanese dialogue. The minister reaffirmed the Government of Hope’s firm commitment to peace and to opening all humanitarian corridors requested by relief organizations to ensure the delivery of food and aid to those in need.AS/BH
