Cairo, April 2 (QNA) – The Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) decided Thursday to keep key interest rates unchanged.
In a statement, the committee explained that it decided to maintain the overnight deposit and lending rates and the Central Bank’s main operation rate at 19.00 percent, 20.00 percent, and 19.50 percent, respectively.
The discount rate was also kept at 19.50 percent.
The committee indicated that this decision reflects its assessment of the latest inflation developments and expectations since its previous meeting. (QNA)
