Child Dies in Gaza After Being Denied Medical TreatmentGaza, 24 Jun (ONA) — A Palestinian child died today due to the inability of the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip to provide him with the necessary treatment.
Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported that the child died after suffering from an enlarged liver, kidney leakage, a severe increase in blood acidity, and severe malnutrition.
WAFA noted that his family launched several urgent appeals to save their child’s life and transfer him abroad for treatment, but their appeals were unsuccessful. The child joined his brother, who died from similar health conditions.
The child’s story reflects one example of the suffering endured by thousands of children in the Gaza Strip, where many face a similar fate due to the collapse of the healthcare system, the shortage of medicines and equipment, and the ban on travel for treatment outside the Strip.
Families in Gaza and humanitarian organizations continue to demand that children be saved and provided with medical care before more innocent lives are lost as a result of the Israeli occupation’s blockade and the prevention of the entry of medical equipment and medicines.— Ends/Khalid
