Amman, July 17 (Petra) — Specialized firefighting teams responded Wednesday evening to a fire that broke out inside a warehouse used as a factory for furniture, furnishings, and sports equipment, covering a total area of 2,000 square meters in the Hitteen Camp area of Zarqa Governorate, according to the spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD).
The spokesperson added that firefighters from Zarqa Civil Defense, supported by teams from Central and East Amman Civil Defense, the Capital Support Group, police, gendarmerie forces, and Zarqa Municipality, made significant efforts to extinguish the blaze. The rapid response played a key role in containing and controlling the fire within a short time. Dozens of firefighting vehicles and numerous personnel participated in the operation.
The firefighting efforts lasted several continuous hours due to the nature of the burning materials, which produced dense smoke. The spokesperson confirmed that no casualties were reported, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
