London, October 14 (Petra) — His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on Tuesday met with Speaker of the UK House of Commons Sir Lindsay Hoyle, and Chair of the House’s International Development Committee Sarah Champion, according to a royal court statement.
During the two meetings, held in London, the Crown Prince commended the deep-rooted ties between Jordan and the United Kingdom, and expressed his pride in the level of cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, and educational fields, expressing Jordan’s readiness to expand technological cooperation.
Discussing regional developments, His Royal Highness praised the UK’s recognition of the State of Palestine, and urged stepping up efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace, on the basis of the two-state solution.
The Crown Prince stressed the importance of ensuring implementation of the agreement to end the war in Gaza in all its stages, noting that the priority in the current stage must be to deliver aid, in light of the critical humanitarian situation in the Strip.
His Royal Highness also noted the need to support UNRWA, which is a lifeline for many Palestinians.
Jordan’s Ambassador to the UK Manar Dabbas, and Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain attended the meeting.
