The Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority affirmed that the national digital identity platform, SUDAPASS, was developed and is operated in accordance with advanced technical, security, and institutional standards that place protection of citizens’ data and digital sovereignty among Sudan’s national priorities. In a press statement issued Friday, the Authority said all digital identity data remain under Sudanese digital sovereignty and national governance frameworks. It added that management of encryption keys and digital certificates is handled through the National Authority for Digital Certification (NADC) under approved security protocols. The Authority said the system undergoes regular security reviews and testing to ensure operational readiness and continuously strengthen cyber protection measures. It further noted that the platform is developed and operated by Sudanese specialists and experts in cybersecurity and digital identity systems. According to the statement, SUDAPASS represents a strategic national project aimed at building digital trust, reinforcing digital sovereignty, and enabling citizens to securely and reliably access digital services. The Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority reaffirmed its full commitment to protecting citizens’ data and continuing development of the national digital system in line with best practices and approved standards.BH/BH
