Makkah, May 26, 2026 (SUNA) – Crowds of Muslim pilgrims began arriving at the Plain of Arafat early Tuesday morning to perform the greatest pillar of Hajj, in a deeply spiritual scene filled with serenity and devotion, as worshippers raised their hands in prayer seeking forgiveness and mercy on the holiest day of the year. Standing at Arafat is the central pillar of Hajj, in accordance with the Prophet Mohamed’s saying: “Hajj is Arafat.” The plains of Arafat were filled with pilgrims from around the world chanting the Talbiyah, glorifying Allah, and reciting prayers and supplications, amid meticulous organization and integrated services that included health, security, and guidance support, in addition to transportation, water supplies, and medical care to ensure pilgrims’ safety and comfort during the rituals. Several Sudanese pilgrims expressed immense joy at reaching the Day of Arafat and performing the rituals in an atmosphere of safety and tranquillity, affirming that the day represents a great spiritual occasion for repentance and drawing closer to Allah. They prayed for peace and stability to prevail in Sudan and across the Muslim world.BH/BH
