Amman, Aug. 12 (Petra) — Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah
II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army,
Director of the Public Security Directorate (PSD) Maj. Gen.
Obaidullah Al-Maaytah on Wednesday presented Second Lt. Ibrahim
Al-Sawalmeh with a royal gift in recognition of his academic
excellence after he ranked first among students from Arab countries
at the Abu Dhabi Police College in the United Arab Emirates.
Al-Sawalmeh received a bachelor’s degree in law and police sciences.
Al-Maaytah conveyed the King’s congratulations and best wishes to
Al-Sawalmeh, saying the achievement reflected the advanced level
attained by Public Security Directorate personnel and their ability
to compete and excel at specialized academic and training
institutions.
He said the achievement also reflected positively on the Public
Security Directorate and its personnel.
Al-Maaytah said the directorate would continue investing in its human
resources by developing qualification, training, and scholarship
programs and enabling its personnel to acquire the latest knowledge
and expertise in policing and law.
Such efforts, he added, would enhance their professional competence
and readiness to carry out their security and humanitarian duties
with the highest levels of professionalism and excellence.
