Baghdad, Aug. 14 (Petra)– An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter
scale struck Sulaymaniyah Governorate in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region on
Friday, followed by several aftershocks, the Iraqi Ministry of
Transport said.
The ministry said seismic observatories operated by the ministry
recorded the earthquake southwest of Sulaymaniyah Governorate.
The tremor caused no reported damage, while several subsequent
aftershocks were also recorded.
