Amman, December 20 (Petra) – The Eastern Military Region on Saturday foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantities of narcotics within its area of responsibility, according to a military source.
The source said the drugs were being transported using balloons guided by rudimentary devices. Border guard units detected the smuggling attempt inside Jordanian territory in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.
The seized narcotics were confiscated and handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal action.
