Cairo, Aug 31 (Petra) — Egypt on Monday condemned Iranian attacks on
Jordan and the United Arab Emirates as a direct threat to the
security and safety of the two countries and their people.
The latest attacks carried serious risks of a widening confrontation
that could undermine efforts to restore regional stability, it said.
Egypt reaffirmed its full solidarity with Jordan and the UAE,
reiterating the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial
integrity of states, and safeguard the security of navigation in
maritime corridors and straits in accordance with international law.
It warned of the serious repercussions of ongoing escalation on
regional security and stability, stressing the need to halt attacks,
reduce tensions, and return to the negotiating table to give
diplomatic channels the opportunity to reach solutions to restore
security and stability and spare the region from a wider conflict.
