Egypt condolse Jordan over south Sinai bus accident

Amman, September 2 (Petra) – Minister of Foreign and Expatriates
Affairs Ayman Safadi received a phone call Wednesday from Egyptian
Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel-Aty.

During the call, Abdel-Aty conveyed Egypt’s condolences to Jordan
following a passenger bus accident earlier Wednesday on the
Dahab-Nuweiba road in South Sinai, which resulted in several deaths
and injuries.

He said the Egyptian authorities will provide all necessary
facilities to care for the injured and complete procedures to
repatriate the bodies of Jordanian citizens to the Kingdom.

Safadi, in turn, expressed Jordan’s condolences to Egypt for the
Egyptian victims of the accident and wished the injured a speedy
recovery.

He thanked his Egyptian counterpart for the efforts of the Egyptian
government and institutions, as well as their cooperation and the
facilities being provided to monitor the condition of the injured and
facilitate the repatriation of the victims’ bodies to Jordan.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates and the
Jordanian Embassy in Cairo are following up on the situation of
Jordanian citizens to ensure the health and safety of the injured,
provide them with necessary assistance and complete procedures for
repatriating the bodies to the Kingdom.
