Cairo, March 07 (QNA) – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Omani counterpart, Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, warned in a phone call on Saturday of the repercussions of continued escalation in the region, citing it as a significant threat to regional peace and security.

According to a statement released by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two ministers exchanged views on the latest regional developments in light of the “dangerous military escalation” currently gripping the Middle East. The discussion focused on viable pathways to contain the current situation.

During the call, the Egyptian Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity for all parties to exercise maximum self-restraint. He called for a de-escalation of tensions, prioritizing the language of dialogue and diplomacy, and maintaining full commitment to the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

The conversation also addressed the broader consequences of regional confrontations and the direct threats they pose to Arab national security. The ministers specifically discussed the attacks that have targeted the Sultanate of Oman, several Gulf states, and other sisterly Arab nations.

In this context, Abdelatty affirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Oman and its neighbors in the Arabian Gulf. He expressed a firm rejection of any infringement upon the sovereignty or stability of Arab states, stating that there are no justifications or pretexts that could legitimize such attacks. (QNA)
