Cairo, April 20 (QNA) – Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty met on Monday with United Nations Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for the Middle East Conflict and its Consequences, Jean Arnault, during the latter’s tour in the region.
Both sides reviewed regional developments and de-escalation, in addition to Egypt’s efforts to support US-Iranian negotiations, said Egypt’s Foreign Ministry in a statement.
These efforts, it added, seek that the warring parties reach understandings that would achieve calm and de-escalation, in light of the decisive moment the Middle East is witnessing.
In this context, the Egyptian Foreign Minister touched on the war’s serious repercussions on the freedom of navigation, supply chains, food security, international trade, and energy security, amid rising energy and oil prices, stressing the importance of intensifying efforts to end the war and contain its wide-ranging impacts.
