Khartoum, April 1, 2026 (SUNA) — Minister of Energy, Al-Mutasim Ibrahim Ahmed, met with the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Khartoum, Professor Imadeldin Elamin Eltahir Aradaib, in the presence of the university’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mahmoud Ali Ahmed.The meeting addressed the university’s preparations to resume operations amid significant challenges in rehabilitating infrastructure, restoring services, and reconnecting electricity, including the provision of transformers and the rehabilitation of the power network.The university is making intensive efforts to restart activities despite infrastructure constraints, as part of broader efforts to restore academic life in central Khartoum. The minister directed the electricity distribution company to provide transformers to the university’s main campus and the Shambat complex.BH/BH
