Energy Regulator: No Residential Tariff Hike, No Losses Added to Bills

Amman, Aug. 16 (Petra) — The Energy and Minerals Regulatory
Commission (EMRC) said that there has been no increase in electricity
tariffs for the residential sector and that electricity losses are
not being passed on to subscribers through their bills.

The commission also stressed that electricity charges are calculated
based on actual consumption and the approved, publicly announced
tariff, rather than on estimates or figures circulating elsewhere,
according to a statement issued Sunday.

The EMRC noted that its communication channels remain open to
citizens and the media for inquiries or clarification regarding
electricity tariffs and bills, stressing the importance of
transparency, protecting subscribers’ rights, and providing accurate
information.
