Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Environment and Natural Resources, Suleiman Al-Bouni Suleiman, discussed with Director-General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), Professor Ibrahim Al-Dakhiri, ways to strengthen coordination and joint cooperation in the fields of environmental protection, agricultural development, and combating desertification. The two sides also exchanged views and expertise on issues under discussion at the conference. The meeting was held in Mongolia on the sidelines of the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP17). The two sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and pooling efforts to support Sudan’s efforts to address the challenges of desertification, land degradation, and drought, and to benefit from relevant regional and international initiatives and programs.BH/BH
