Amman, Jan. 18 (Petra) – The European Union (EU) called on Saturday for the implementation of the ceasefire agreement across the entire Gaza Strip, ensuring the release of all prisoners and the complete cessation of hostilities.
According to Euronews, the EU welcomed the ceasefire agreement in its statement, also urging the safe and dignified return of displaced people to their homes in Gaza and the unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into the region.
The statement expressed the EU’s deep regret over the unacceptable number of civilian casualties, especially children, who lost their lives.
The EU reaffirmed its commitment to achieving a fair, comprehensive, and lasting peace based on the two-state solution, emphasizing that this would contribute to supporting the Palestinian Authority and helping it meet its needs.
