Famine Deaths in Gaza Rise to 300 as Israeli Blockade IntensifiesGaza, 25 Aug (ONA) — Gaza medical sources today reported that 11 more Palestinians, including two children, have died from starvation and malnutrition over the past 24 hours, according to hospital records from across the Strip. This brings the total number of Israeli man-made famine-related deaths to 300, including 117 children. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza continues to intensify amid a severe blockade and critical shortages of food and medical supplies. Extreme famine conditions coincide with what has been described as a genocidal war launched by Israeli occupation forces.Since 2 March 2025, Israeli occupation authorities have maintained the closure of all border crossings into Gaza, preventing the entry of most humanitarian aid, which has resulted in widespread famine. The UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) previously warned that malnutrition among children under five has doubled between March and June due to the sustained blockade. The World Health Organization (WHO) also confirmed that malnutrition rates have reached alarming levels in Gaza, emphasizing that the deliberate obstruction and delays in aid delivery have cost numerous lives. The agency reported that nearly one in five children under five in Gaza City now suffers from severe acute malnutrition.— Ends/Khalid
