Amman, May 13 (Petra) – Senate President Faisal Fayez on Tuesday separately discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields with a number of foreign ambassadors to Jordan.

During Fayez’s talks with Ambassadors of Netherlands, Harry Verweij, Australia’s Bernard Lynch and Poland’s Lucian Karpinski, the meetings went over several current issues in the region.

Fayez highlighted Jordan’s “firm” positions on various regional issues, as well as His Majesty King Abdullah II’s efforts to end conflicts in the Middle East, halt the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, and deliver humanitarian and relief aid to Gaza Strip, which faces a systematic blockade and starvation.

Fayez also highlighted His Majesty King Abdullah II’s efforts to find a political horizon to resolve the Palestinian cause, based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy resolutions.

In this context, he urged the international community to assume its responsibilities by working to halt the heinous Israeli aggression and hold the occupying Israel accountable for the war crimes and brutal massacres committed against the Palestinian people.

Praising the “high” level of Jordanian relations with these friendly countries, he stressed importance of building on and strengthening ties in various fields, especially in political, economic, and investment-related areas.

For their part, the ambassadors commended the Kingdom’s “significant” role, under the King’s leadership, in achieving peace in the region and restoring security and stability.

The diplomats affirmed their countries’ “pride” in their relations with Jordan and their keenness to develop them in various fields.

Noting importance of strengthening economic and investment partnership, they stressed the need to increase trade exchange and activate bilateral agreements to serve mutual interests.
