Port Sudan, Jan. 25, 2026 (SUNA) – Nile River State has recorded its first successful cornea transplant procedures, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of specialized medical services in the state.The surgeries were performed on four patients at Al-Nahda Centre for Advanced Ophthalmology, affiliated with Al-Nahda Holding Group, by a specialized medical team led by Cornea Consultant Dr. Safwat Al-Badri, alongside the Centre’s Cornea Specialist Dr. Areej Al-Tijani.Chief Executive Officer of Al-Nahda Holding Group Ali Jaafar Ali confirmed the success of the operations, describing the achievement as “historic” and reflective of a high level of coordination, planning, and institutional efficiency.
